Bormio

Our Hotel Residence 3 Signori Ski & Bike SPA Resort is located in Santa Caterina Valfurva (SO), in via Vedich 17. You can reach us by car, train, bus or plane (to Milan).

In winter

How to get there by car

  • From Milan: Tangenziale Nord Cinisello exit; Freeway to Lecco up to Colico; SS 38 to Sondrio, Tirano, Bormio and Santa Caterina Valfurva.
  • From Brescia: A4 motorway, Brescia Ovest exit towards Iseo Lake; SS42 Breno, Edolo; SS39 for Aprica, Tirano; SS 38 to Bormio and Santa Caterina Valfurva.
  • From Bergamo: SS 342 to Cisano Bergamasco (about 17km), then SS 639 for 10km to Lecco. Then continue on the freeway to Colico, SS 38 for Sondrio, Tirano, Bormio and Santa Caterina Valfurva.
  • From Zernez: La Drossa – Tunnel “Munt la Schera” Drossa – P.te del Gallo, Livigno; SS301 for Bormio and Santa Caterina Valfurva. Tunnel open all the year with toll.
  • From St. Moritz: Passo Bernina, Tirano, Bormio, Santa Caterina Valfurva.

During the winter season the Alpine passes (Passo Stelvio, Passo Gavia and Passo Forcola) are CLOSED. It is therefore necessary to pay attention to the road directions given by satellite navigators which do not take into account such closures.

How to arrive by train

  • From Milan: with the Milan - Lecco - Sondrio - Tirano railway line. (2 hours and 30 min. with Trenitalia trains www.trenitialia.com) From Milan it is also possible to reach Valtellina from the convenient city railway stations of San Cristoforo, Romolo, Porta Romana, Lambrate and Greco Pirelli.

How to get there by bus

  • In the high season the Perego bus lines provide a direct connection service Milan-Bormio. More generally, bus routes cover the Sondrio-Tirano-Bormio route and vice versa throughout the year. The connection between Bormio, Uzza, S.Nicolò, S.Antonio, and Santa Caterina (about 14 km) is by scheduled bus.
  • from St. Moritz in Switzerland you can reach Tirano with the Rhaetian Railway (red train) and then continue to Bormio and Santa Caterina with the bus service.

Transfer from the airports: during the whole winter season the service is active to and from the airports of: Milan Malpensa - Bergamo Orio al Serio - Munich.

During the summer season it is also possible to reach Santa Caterina through some fascinating alpine passes:

  • Passo dello Stelvio at 2758 m (open until November) from the South Tyrolean side (Prato-Passo dello Stelvio) and from Switzerland (Santa Maria) with descent to Bormio and Santa Caterina Valfurva.
  • Passo Gavia at 2651 m (open until November) accessible from Ponte di Legno with descent to Santa Caterina Valfurva.
  • Passo della Forcola at 2315 meters (open until November) reachable from St. Moritz or Tirano with a descent to Livigno and then to Bormio and Santa Caterina Valfurva.

How to arrive by train

  • From Milan: with the Milan - Lecco - Sondrio - Tirano railway line. (2 hours and 30 min. with Trenitalia trains www.trenitialia.com). From Milan it is also possible to reach Valtellina from the convenient city railway stations of San Cristoforo, Romolo, Porta Romana, Lambrate and Greco Pirelli.
